Overview of the Role:


The primary duty of the housekeeping team is to ensure the cleanliness and upkeep of hotel rooms promptly, providing guests with a welcoming and tidy environment.

Housekeeping responsibilities encompass, but are not limited to: daily room preparation, changing bed linens, maintaining linen storage areas, cleaning restrooms, sinks, and showers, as well as mopping and vacuuming floors.

Housekeepers may also assist the maintenance team when required, support the front desk as needed, help guests with requests (such as providing ironing boards or cribs), and respond to various inquiries.

This role is crucial in ensuring guests have a comfortable and enjoyable experience during their stay.

Housekeepers will be accountable for the quality of cleaned rooms, completion of cleaning projects, and adherence to company policies and procedures related to housekeeping.

Excellent customer service to hotel guests and patrons is essential. This position demands mental agility and the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. A housekeeper must be capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a team.

All employees are expected to perform their duties safely and report any safety concerns to management. Additionally, all McMenamins employees should stay informed about company events, history, and products. Other responsibilities may be assigned by the Manager on duty.

Job Requirements:


Previous experience in hotel housekeeping is preferred but not mandatory. Ability to meet attendance expectations, including flexibility for days, evenings, weekends, and holidays is required.


Essential Functions:

  • Efficiently and effectively clean hotel rooms and other guest-accessible areas.
  • Safely lift and transport heavy items using a hand truck or with assistance.
  • Exhibit excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Maintain composure and focus in a high-volume, deadline-oriented work setting.
  • Value diversity and work effectively with individuals from various backgrounds.
  • Work independently while adhering to strict deadlines.
  • Stand and walk for extended periods, including frequent stair climbing.
  • Perform repetitive movements such as pushing, pulling, bending, and stooping.
  • Handle small and large objects with fine motor skills.
  • Communicate clearly and maintain a positive, polite demeanor with coworkers, managers, and customers.
  • Utilize cleaning and sanitizing chemicals safely.
