Chief People Officer

We are seeking a seasoned Chief People Officer to drive our human resources strategy and foster a positive work environment at Tatte Bakery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive human resources strategy aligned with the company's overall business plan and strategic direction.
  • Lead the development of talent management programs to attract, evaluate, and retain top talent.
  • Collaborate with departments to analyze business goals and identify talent needs.
  • Ensure consistent and timely handling of employee relations issues and maintain a positive work environment.
  • Oversee all organizational internal communications and ensure they are timely, concise, and accessible to all team members.
  • Work with the CEO and CFO to design attractive short- and long-term incentive plans for café and support center positions.
  • Promote a culture of data accuracy across HR functions and maintain and communicate records as required by law and organizational needs.
  • Negotiate and oversee relevant vendor agreements and collaborate with external partners to achieve timely work plans.
  • Stay current on industry trends, practices, and laws to ensure Tatte remains an employer of choice.
  • Contribute to the annual budget and company business plan, ensuring HR expenditures remain within budget.
Requirements:
  • At least 5 years of experience at the VP level or higher overseeing culture/HR and learning & development at a high-growth, high-volume multi-unit organization (hospitality highly preferred).
  • Proven track record in developing, growing, and executing a holistic people strategy across the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive relationships with team members at all levels.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, organizational, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • High level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information.
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills and ability to use and interpret data to validate plans and implementations.
  • Proven commitment to advancing diversity, inclusion, equity & belonging in the work environment.
  • Experience collaborating with, managing, and building geographically diversified teams.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to contribute at both a strategic and operational level.
  • Ability to communicate and influence decisions across a complex, fast-paced organization.

Preferred Skills:
Bachelor's degree in HR or Hospitality Management.
PHR/SPHR certification.
Ability to speak and write Spanish a plus.

Working Conditions/Essential Requirements:
Ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays as well as emergencies as required.
Ability to travel (50% +).
Able to work ten hour-plus shifts, plus ability to stand, sit, squat, or walk for extended periods of time, walk up and down stairs, and read.
Ability to read and speak English proficiently.
Able to grasp, reach overhead, push, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds.
