Job Summary:

The Commercial Auto Claims Adjuster III role at AmTrust Financial Services involves examining, investigating, and settling or declining insurance claims in a prompt and efficient manner. This position requires effective research, negotiation, and interaction with insureds and claimants to ensure cost-effective utilization of company resources.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate financial accountabilities and control loss adjustment expenses.
  • Handle moderate-to-high complexity commercial auto liability losses, including litigated claims.
  • Make timely and appropriate contacts with interested parties, including insureds, claimants, witnesses, and producers.
  • Determine and review coverages that may or may not apply to the claim, and plan, execute, and review investigations-coverage, liability, and/or damages.
  • Discuss possible coverage issues with supervisors and draft coverage positions as applicable.
  • Obtain medical records and reports, police and agency reports, photographs, and measurements, and expert assistance/testimony.
  • Apply facts to the law of a particular jurisdiction to properly evaluate exposure.
  • Establish indemnity and expense reserves as the claim transpires.
  • Control and manage claims-related expenses, determine and execute plans of action to resolution, and minimize litigation.
  • Work with and actively monitor and manage defense counsel.
  • Minimize losses through identification of subrogation and prompt disposition.
  • Determine and fulfill reporting requirements to supervisors, Home Office, SIU, client companies, and reinsurers.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years of claims handling experience.
