Job Summary:

Hearst Television is seeking a highly skilled Broadcast Technical Director to join our team. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for the technical execution of our live newscasts, ensuring a clean and professional look on air.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with engineering and news teams to facilitate the production elements involved in live newscasts
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Assistant Chief Engineer and Director of Engineering

Requirements:

  • 1+ years of experience working as a newscast director or technical director at a commercial television station
  • Experience operating several types of production broadcast equipment
  • Knowledge of Grass Valley Ignite Automation or experience with production control automation systems
  • Demonstrate timely decision-making in a live news production environment
  • Understanding of newsroom systems, ENPS and video playback systems

Qualifications:

  • Solid background in the operations of broadcast television systems and equipment
  • Ability to work flexible hours and shifts, including holidays and weekends
  • In-person attendance is required

Education:

  • College Degree preferred but not required
