We are seeking an experienced Broadcast Technical Director to oversee the technical aspects of our live newscasts. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in broadcast operations and production activities.

Hearst Television is a leading broadcasting company with 35 television and two radio stations serving 27 media markets across 39 states, reaching over 22 million U.S. television households.

Job Description

This role will work closely with engineering and news teams to ensure smooth execution of live broadcasts. Key responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for the clean technical execution of the look of the newscasts
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Assistant Chief Engineer and Director of Engineering
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • 1+ years of experience working as a newscast director or technical director at a commercial television station
  • Experience operating various types of production broadcast equipment
  • Knowledge of Grass Valley Ignite Automation or experience with production control automation systems
  • Demonstrate timely decision-making in a live news production environment
  • Understanding of newsroom systems, ENPS, and video playback systems
Salary Information

The estimated salary for this position is $60,000-$80,000 per year, depending on experience.
