Position Title: Elevator Mechanic II

Overview:

This role is essential for ensuring the safety and functionality of elevator systems. The successful candidate will engage in the inspection, repair, maintenance, modification, and fabrication of mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic equipment, specifically focusing on passenger and freight elevator systems as well as powered lifts.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough inspections and perform necessary repairs on elevator systems.
  • Maintain compliance with safety regulations as outlined by the State of Michigan.
  • Perform safety tests to ensure operational integrity.
  • Engage in high-performance practices that prioritize teamwork and stewardship.

Qualifications:

Applicants should possess the following:

  • High school diploma or equivalent technical training.
  • Completion of a relevant trade-specific program or apprenticeship.
  • A minimum of 7.5 years of experience in elevator installation and maintenance.
  • Valid State of Michigan Class A or B Elevator License.
  • Qualified Elevator Inspector (QEI) certification.
  • In-depth knowledge of tools, materials, and safety protocols related to the trade.
  • Familiarity with electrical codes and regulations.
  • Valid vehicle operator's license and personal hand tools.
  • Ability to lift weights ranging from 26 to over 75 pounds.

Preferred Skills:

Experience with Motion Control Engineering and certifications in various elevator control systems are advantageous. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential, along with the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
