Job Summary:

The Director of Human Resources and Talent Development is responsible for leading the development and implementation of strategic HR initiatives that drive business results and support the growth of the Marriott Laguna Cliffs Resort team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement HR strategies that align with the resort's business objectives and support the achievement of key performance indicators.
  • Lead the recruitment, selection, and onboarding process for all employees, ensuring a high-quality candidate experience and a strong pipeline of talent.
  • Design and deliver training programs that enhance employee skills and knowledge, driving performance and engagement.
  • Manage employee relations, including conflict resolution, coaching, and counseling, to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
  • Develop and maintain HR policies, procedures, and programs that comply with relevant laws and regulations, ensuring the resort's compliance with employment laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with department heads to identify and address talent gaps, develop succession plans, and implement retention strategies.
  • Manage the employee benefits program, including health, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) plan, and other employee perks.
  • Develop and maintain a positive and inclusive work environment, fostering a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Monitor and analyze HR metrics, including turnover rates, time-to-hire, and employee satisfaction, to inform HR strategies and drive business results.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience in human resources, with a focus on talent development and management.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing successful HR strategies that drive business results.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with employees, managers, and external partners.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collect and analyze data to inform HR decisions.
  • Knowledge of employment laws and regulations, with the ability to develop and maintain compliant HR policies and procedures.
