Job Summary

The Automation Controls Specialist will be responsible for the management, creation, and delivery of controls solutions and pricing during the bidding process for Direct Sales and Retrofit projects. This role will support the Sales and design teams to ensure that controls solutions are in line with Commander standards, and any deviations are highlighted and reviewed for suitability.

The Automation Controls Specialist will ensure that all US, National, TGW, and Customer standards are adhered to as part of the design and costing of the solution. They will review, verify, and ensure that solution costs meet required group margins.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the on-time delivery of controls solutions and costing for TGW US sales bids (both direct sales and retrofit).
  • Support and work on both local and global controls strategic initiatives.
  • Creation and update of KPIs to measure sales costs against actual costs, reviewed at multiple defined points in the project delivery.
  • Contribute and manage a project risk register for each project assigned.
  • Ongoing coordination with customers, other departments, adjacent processes, and suppliers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years in relevant work experience with diverse intralogistics systems at varying levels of automation.
  • Strong experience in the design and delivery of controls systems.
  • Project Management experience gained within an engineering environment.
  • Previous experience of site installation and management.
  • Skilled in using AutoCAD to understand mechanical and electrical drawings.
