Key Responsibilities
  • Investigate project specifications, scope of work, and drawings to develop a thorough understanding of project requirements.
  • Perform takeoffs, calculations, and data analysis to estimate project costs.
  • Conduct site visits to gather relevant data on project site conditions, verify production rates, and learn new construction techniques.
  • Adjust bid methods and incorporate them into our bidding process.
  • Attend team kickoff and schedule oversight meetings, review team and related reports.
  • Participate in quarterly cost-to-complete meetings and incorporate relevant information into future bids.
  • Negotiate costs, quality, and delivery using our company's buyout procedure.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of contract documents and project risks.
  • Make recommendations on risk mitigation and pricing.
  • Collaborate with the Contracts department to address contract risks.
  • Assist with pricing strategies.
  • Ensure the execution of Non-disclosure Agreements before sharing project/bid information with subcontractors and vendors.
  • Ensure subcontractors and vendors receive standard Terms and Conditions before quote submission.
  • Coordinate with Business Development, Engineering, and Operations teams for timely bid pricing and submission.
  • Draft proposal sections per RFP specifications for assigned scope of work.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Structural Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of relevant estimating experience.
  • Skills in performing take-offs, pricing, and communicating with subcontractors.
