Position Overview:


Under the direct supervision of an Environmental Services Supervisor, the Technician I plays a crucial role in ensuring patient safety and satisfaction by delivering prompt and comprehensive cleaning services to maintain the hospital in a clean, sanitary, and appealing condition.


Location:
Johns Hopkins Hospital.

Schedule:
Weekend shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM.

Compensation:
$17.50 per hour.

Deliver thorough and efficient cleaning services across various areas, including but not limited to: inpatient units, clinical examination rooms, operating theaters, pharmacies, MRI suites, offices, conference spaces, restrooms, utility areas, and corridors.

Maintain equipment and supplies in a safe and hygienic condition.
Execute cleaning tasks using designated products while adhering to established protocols.
Utilize effective interpersonal skills to communicate with customers, colleagues, and supervisors as needed.
Exhibit professional conduct consistently.
Direct customer feedback to appropriate personnel as necessary.
Provide exceptional customer service while interacting with patients and visitors at all times.
Complete and submit repair requests for equipment and work areas as required. Ensure adequate supplies and equipment are available at the start and end of shifts for assigned areas.
Working Conditions:
Requires walking, standing, and bending for the entirety of scheduled shifts.
Ability to load, unload, and transport equipment, materials, and waste. Must be capable of lifting up to fifty (50) pounds.
Qualifications:
Ability to read at a minimum of an 8th-grade level.
Ability to perform calculations at a 6th-grade level.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Three (3) months of continuous work experience required; six (6) months of industrial cleaning experience strongly preferred.
Availability to work weekends.
