Job Summary

This internship position is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in government affairs and public policy. As a Government Affairs Intern at the Port of Corpus Christi, you will assist the Director of Government Affairs in planning and coordinating events, communicating with local, state, and federal government officials, and performing general administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in planning and coordinating events, including agendas, invitations, and logistics
  • Communicate with government officials, stakeholders, and community members through various channels
  • Support the Director of Government Affairs in developing and implementing public policy initiatives
  • Perform general administrative tasks, including data entry, filing, and record-keeping
  • Establish and maintain relationships with government officials, stakeholders, and community members
Requirements
  • Currently enrolled in a college or university, pursuing an Associate, Bachelor, or Graduate degree in a relevant field
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other software applications
  • Ability to work a maximum of 25 hours per week, within an 8AM to 5PM, Monday through Friday workweek
