Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Derrick Hand to join our team at Steel Partners LLC. As a key member of our well services crew, you will be responsible for safely operating and maintaining our workover rigs, ensuring the efficient and effective completion of our projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work under the supervision of the Crew Operator to transfer rod sections to and from derrick racks, ensuring safe and efficient operations.
  • Operate the rod hoist using a control pedal or communicate with the crew operator to ensure seamless operations.
  • Attach transfer devices to rods to disconnect rod clamps, guiding tubing sections from tubing rack slots to tubing platforms.
  • Align tubing sections perpendicularly over well bores to assist in connection and prevent damage to treads.
  • Occasionally operate pumps to circulate fluid or mud into well bores, connecting well head attachments, loading tools, and performing similar duties.
  • Clean, fuel, repair, and maintain workover rig equipment, including greasing, changing oils, and lubricants as needed.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-2 years of experience as a Floor Hand or equivalent.
  • Basic problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Excellent customer service, interpersonal, and verbal/written English communication skills.
  • Minimum 1 year of basic oilfield service experience.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Class B CDL license to drive workover rigs (not required but encouraged).
  • Ability to bend, stoop, and lift objects of up to 75 pounds for extended periods.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to pass company's pre-employment exam, including a drug screen and physical.
Working Conditions

This position requires standing, walking, and sitting while working indoors or outdoors. The ability to work at heights up to or greater than 50 feet is essential. Dependability is imperative, and unauthorized absences will result in discipline up to and including employment termination.
