Job Title: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) - Family Medicine Leola

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our team at Family Medicine Leola. As a CMA, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare team.

Job Summary:

The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) will be responsible for providing administrative and clinical support to our healthcare team. This includes preparing patients for visits, administering injections, and performing various medical procedures. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare patients for visits by using appropriate rooming standards tools.
  • Administer injections, as prescribed by the provider, and provide gross observations to the provider or licensed nurse for interpretation as necessary.
  • Prepare and administer medications as prescribed by the provider in accordance with federal and state regulations.
  • Perform Point of Care Testing, including but not limited to hearing, flu, urine, and strep tests.
  • Remove sutures and change dressings on wounds as necessary.
  • Provide clinical advice by phone/electronic correspondence in accordance with established triage protocols and relay information to the patient.
  • Authorize prescription refills as directed by the provider.
  • Assist in test tracking and monitoring overdue results.
  • Assure exam rooms are adequately supplied and cleaned after each patient visit.
  • Participate in daily huddles with the provider and serve as a patient experience advocate.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or general equivalent (GED) is required.
  • Medical Assistant Certification from an accredited institution (AAMA, AMT, NHA, NCCT, or NAHTR) is required.
  • CPR Certification is required: American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support, formerly Healthcare Provider (AHA Heart Saver AMA CPR/BLS certification is required within 30 days of hire.
  • For Regional Positions only, a valid driver's license is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • One to two years of Medical Assistant experience in a primary or specialty care physician's office.
