Job Title: Laboratory Quality Control Inspector

United Felts & United Wetouts, a leading CIPP liner manufacturer and division of Vortex Companies, is seeking a skilled Laboratory Quality Control Inspector to join our team.

Job Summary:

The Laboratory Quality Control Inspector will be responsible for inspecting and testing incoming materials, products in process, and finished goods, as well as maintaining the physical operation of the Quality System.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Update and revise documentation, procedures, and manuals as needed.
  • Maintain a system for record keeping and traceability, as well as document control.
  • Maintain calibration systems and records, and perform calibration on in-house equipment.
  • Complete testing and product disposition, and operate the company's inspection and test procedures for incoming materials.
  • Inform management of any abnormal situations that cannot be successfully dealt with.
  • Aid in maintaining the United Felts Metric System.
  • Release conforming product, and work in a safe manner at all times by following company safety policies and procedures.
  • Perform all paperwork documentation on either computer or hard copy.
Requirements:
  • GED/High School Diploma.
  • Satisfactorily complete 3 months on-the-job training.
Physical Demands:

The Laboratory Quality Control Inspector must be able to perform physically demanding work for 8+ hours a day, including prolonged standing and walking, bending, and twisting. They must also be able to lift and move up to 60 lbs. on a continuous basis, and possess basic math skills.

Able to wear required PPE, i.e., hard hats, safety vest, work boots, and/or safety glasses/goggles while working as required by the job.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time, non-exempt position. Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday, but could include shift work, weekends, evenings, and/or holidays - flexibility is required as job duties demand.
