Key Responsibilities
  • Process and analyze laboratory samples in a timely and efficient manner, following established procedures and protocols.
  • Set up, run, and maintain laboratory instruments, ensuring they are functioning properly and accurately.
  • Perform quality control checks and take corrective action as needed to ensure the accuracy and reliability of test results.
  • Interact with healthcare workers to solve problems and interpret patient laboratory results.
  • Perform routine and basic laboratory testing within a designated area in the clinical laboratory.
  • Maintain accurate and legible records of patient and specimen information.
  • Follow hospital, state, and federal guidelines for ensuring a safe environment for workers, patients, and the public.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree in Medical Laboratory or Laboratory Sciences (MLT).
  • Current licensure as a Medical Technician in WV, OH, PA, or MD within 90 days of hire.
  • Preferred qualifications include certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or American Medical Technologists (AMT).
Working Environment

The work environment for this position will be in a clinical laboratory setting, where you will be exposed to strong or unpleasant odors and may be exposed to agents that may cause serious disease.

  • Able to work well as a team with co-workers, supervisors, and all other staff/customers, including patients.
  • Knowledge of basic computer skills.
