Key Responsibilities
- Patient Care
- Obtain patient health history, check vital signs, and record patient information into the patient chart.
- Optimize patient satisfaction, provider time, and treatment room utilization by having necessary supplies, equipment, and tools ready for use by providers.
- Collect blood draws and urine samples as ordered by medical providers as defined by state statutes.
- Assist with data management in the EMR system as directed by the physician.
- Sterilize and clean instruments used in examinations; maintain a clean and hygienic environment.
- Respond to telephone requests and provide routine information and escalate to medical providers when appropriate.
- Maintain medical supplies and equipment in treatment rooms on a daily basis.
- Inventories medical supplies and equipment and requisition as necessary.
- Protect patients' rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal medical information.
- Maintain operations by following policies and procedures.
Requirements
Education and Experience
Equivalent to four years of high school or GED, with at least six (6) months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
BLS Certification required.
Preferred Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) preferred.
