Executive Director of Strategic Operations

Public Citizen seeks a highly skilled and experienced Executive Director of Strategic Operations to drive our continued success. With a strong track record in nonprofit management, you will streamline strategic initiatives, oversee program management, and communicate objectives effectively across departments.
About the RoleThis leadership position will work closely with our President and Executive Vice President to chart the organization's course. Key responsibilities include:
- Process Improvement: Enhance current processes and optimize organizational procedures for maximum efficiency and productivity.
- Liaison and Collaboration: Serve as a liaison between staff, executives, senior leaders, and the President and Executive Vice President on matters such as organization climate, employee well-being, project updates, proposals, and planning.
- Daily Operations Management: Oversee daily operations in collaboration with senior managers and department leaders.
- Event Planning: Plan and coordinate annual meetings, trainings, conference series, and cross-cutting organizational improvements.
- Facilities Management: Work with HR and building managers to ensure smooth management of our facilities.
- Employee Engagement: Develop and build relationships with all employees to increase efficiency and responsiveness of existing operations.
- Special Projects: Help define new operational strategies by working with leadership on special projects.
- Decision-Making Support: Assist and communicate with leadership in decision-making, program management, and initiative implementation.

Public Citizen offers a competitive salary and excellent benefits package, including:
- A salary range of $80,000 - $100,000 per year, depending on experience;
- Three weeks paid vacation plus five personal days;
- A 401K plan with a 5% contribution from PC after one year of employment;
- 12 weeks of paid parental leave after one year of employment;
- A sabbatical after 10 years of employment;
- A student loan reimbursement program.
