Job Summary

The Martin Luther King Jr Center for Non Violent Social Change is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Director of Facilities to join our team. This key role will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities, including maintenance, repairs, and upgrades.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the maintenance and repair of all facilities, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive facilities management plan to ensure the efficient use of resources and minimize downtime.
  • Manage a team of facilities staff, providing guidance and support to ensure the successful completion of tasks and projects.
  • Coordinate with various departments to ensure that facilities needs are met, including events, exhibitions, and special projects.
  • Develop and manage budgets for facilities-related expenses, including maintenance, repairs, and upgrades.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and codes, including OSHA, ADA, and FGI.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Director of Facilities and Security Operations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in facilities management, with 3 years of supervisory experience.
  • Expertise in facility codes, including NFPA and OSHA.
  • Strong business management and employee leadership skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
Work Environment

The Assistant Director of Facilities will work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent interaction with various departments and stakeholders. The position requires a high level of physical fitness, as well as the ability to work in a variety of weather conditions. The successful candidate will be required to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends, and be available on-call for emergencies.
