Job Description:

The Data Center Operations Technician I plays a critical role in providing physical and technical support to Flexential customers and resources. This position requires a solid understanding of facilities infrastructure, Windows operating systems, PC troubleshooting, and management applications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide timely resolution and/or escalation of facility and customer issues
  • Maintain a professional attitude and conduct while performing data center duties
  • Troubleshoot and document technical issues using Flexential's ticketing system
  • Follow Flexential's support and data center policies, processes, and procedures
  • Provide local access and escort for vendors and carriers
  • Perform remote hands work for internal and external customers
  • Assist and/or complete physical and logical installations of Flexential services
  • Maintain cleanliness of the data center and surrounding supporting areas
  • Perform facilities rounds and escalate pertinent information
  • Process all in and out bound shipping/receiving for customer and Flexential deliveries
  • Operate and manage badge access security system
  • Assist critical infrastructure manager (CIM) on an as needed basis
  • Work with local management to maintain cabling and general usage item inventory levels
  • Perform other duties as required and assigned
Required Qualifications:
  • Possess a passion for providing a great customer experience
  • Understand Windows and Microsoft operating systems
  • Be a self-starter and motivated individual
  • Exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Display strong attention to detail, making and keeping commitments, and meeting deadlines
  • Prefer 1 year of experience working within an IT support environment
  • Hold an AA, BS, or High School Diploma
  • Network+, Security+, and/or CCNA desired
  • Microsoft MCP or MCSA preferred
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to climb ladders and work aloft
  • Ability to work in cold temperature environments
  • Ability to maneuver pallet jacks and lift heavy objects
  • Ability to pull and install cabling
