Position Summary

We are seeking a TechOps Engineer to provide daily technical expertise for our Splunk Cloud Azure TechOps team. This role is crucial in making significant technical decisions that enhance our operational infrastructure, supporting our SaaS customer-facing systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee Splunk Cloud within Microsoft Azure and Amazon AWS FedRAMP environments.
  • Collaborate across departments to deliver high-quality products that satisfy our dedicated users.
  • Lead a team of engineers in creating a cutting-edge, cloud-based infrastructure for large-scale data processing.
  • Mentor and support new engineers, fostering their growth and success.
  • Achieve Splunk Cloud Certified Architect status within the first year of employment.
Qualifications
  • Experience or interest in regulated computing environments such as FISMA and/or FedRAMP.
  • Proficiency in Azure environments.
  • Experience working in fully remote teams.
  • Passion for building and managing distributed systems at scale.
  • Strong focus on automation and process improvement.
  • Knowledge of security, performance, and disaster recovery best practices.
  • Adept at identifying performance bottlenecks and diagnosing system anomalies.
  • Experience with monitoring tools like Splunk, VictorOps, and Nagios.
  • Commitment to maintaining thorough documentation for team efficiency.
  • Ability to address complex issues and collaborate with vendors for solutions.
  • Comfortable handling critical customer-facing challenges and prioritizing effectively.
  • Solid understanding of Linux systems and networking fundamentals.
  • Possession of AZ-900 Azure Fundamentals or AZ-104 Azure Administrator Certification.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively across teams to influence software design and deployment.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with cloud monitoring using Splunk.
  • Familiarity with programming languages, preferably Go or Python, for automating Linux tasks.
  • Experience in large-scale distributed cloud service development.
  • Knowledge of distributed architectures and scalable software solutions.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Gitlab, Puppet, Jenkins, and YAML.
  • Ability to support FedRAMP Moderate environments.
