The Plumbing Service Technician plays a crucial role in the installation, repair, and upkeep of plumbing systems, including pipes, fixtures, and various plumbing components utilized for water distribution and wastewater management. This position encompasses a wide range of tasks, from fixing faucets to installing water heaters and replacing plumbing systems for residential clients, all while ensuring exceptional customer service.

We are in search of outstanding plumbing service technicians who can provide the most effective and high-quality customer experiences in residential plumbing repair and installation.

This role is field-based, with a company-provided take-home vehicle. Our services primarily focus on occupied residential properties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems and fixtures.
  • Interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine plumbing system layouts, water supply networks, and waste and drainage systems.
  • Plan, install, and service plumbing systems, fixtures, piping equipment, and controls. These systems may transport water, waste, gases, or hot liquids.
  • Deliver excellent customer service by educating residential clients on recommended plumbing services when potential hazards are identified.
  • Identify necessary tools and specialized equipment
  • Select appropriate pipe types and sizes
  • Locate and mark positions for connections and fixtures
  • Install supports and hangers for pipes, fixtures, and equipment
  • Assemble and install valves and fittings
  • Install, repair, and maintain water treatment equipment, piping, and controls
  • Install, repair, and maintain underground storm, sanitary, and water piping systems
  • Install, repair, and maintain sinks, tubs, and toilets
  • Install, repair, and maintain water heaters and conditioners
  • Install, repair, and maintain plumbing fixtures, appliances, and trim
  • Test pipe systems and fixtures for leaks
  • Perform scheduled maintenance on plumbing systems and fixtures
  • Adhere to all codes during installations, repairs, and maintenance
  • Ensure compliance with manufacturer specifications for systems and fixtures
  • Ensure proper sizing, alignment, support, and grading of installations, repairs, and maintenance
  • Ensure compliance with relevant codes and environmental protection requirements

Qualifications:

  • Ability to safely operate a company service vehicle and maintain a clean driving record
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Capacity to make informed business decisions
  • Excellent written, verbal communication, and listening skills
  • Effective time management skills
  • Ability to effectively sell services to customers, assisting them in selecting the best service options and products while striving for referrals and repeat business
  • Ability to maintain a clean and organized job site
  • Ability to keep a well-stocked service vehicle
  • Honesty and integrity in customer interactions
  • Strong work ethic
  • Flexibility to work varying schedules based on company needs, including holidays and weekends
  • Willingness to participate in training sessions and company meetings
  • Accuracy in invoicing, timesheets, and other daily paperwork

Experience/Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Journeyman's License Preferred
  • Familiarity with local plumbing codes
  • Proven experience in soldering, pipe threading, fixture installation, gas leak testing, and repair
  • Clean and safe driving record
