Job Title: Fire Captain Industrial

At Rural/Metro, we are committed to providing exceptional patient care and emergency services. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fire Captain Industrial to join our team.

Job Summary

The Fire Captain Industrial will serve as the Shift Supervisor and be responsible for the supervision of the shift Emergency Response Team. The Captain will report directly to both the onsite Fire Chief and the clients Shift Safety Supervisor or designee.

Key Responsibilities
  • Initiate Incident Command and serve as Incident Commander at the scene of any type of emergency, including HazMat, Fire, Rescue, Medical, and Oil Spill Response.
  • Supervise the on-duty response members under their supervision and ensure that all required tasks are completed on time.
  • Acquire a working knowledge of all fire equipment used at the site, including apparatus, fire pumps, extinguishers, hydrants, monitors, post indicators, and deluge/sprinkler systems.
  • Train shift members on all equipment and delegate duties to ensure that all required tasks are completed.
  • Ensure proper record retention of required compliance-related inspections and maintain order and discipline in their command at all times.
Requirements
  • Five years of full-time firefighting experience with a minimum of one year as a supervisor.
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • State-issued or International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC) or Fire Service Professional Qualifications System (ProBoard) certifications as a minimum.
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record in accordance with company policy.
