Job Summary

The Corporate Paralegal will serve as the lead support to counsel and liaison to business units and departments, outside counsel, and third parties. This role is responsible for gathering, preparing, and summarizing relevant materials for use by legal counsel, assisting with the collection, processing, review, and production of electronic data, and leading strategic and tactical corporate legal initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Proactively assist the legal team in the timely intake and response to internal client requests, document distribution, and collection for review.
  • Assist in drafting and editing various legal documents, including contracts, memoranda, and correspondence.
  • Track and maintain company contracts, corporate notices, discovery requests, real estate, and finance documents from client teams.
  • Submit purchase requisitions and prepare notices and supporting documentation for Board of Trustees meetings.
  • Conduct legal research and monitor attorney calendars for meeting preparation and deliverables.
  • Serve as a department liaison for internal and external customers.
  • Assist with transaction closings, including loans, property sales, acquisitions, and easements.
  • Assist with preparation and submission of annual financial audit responses.
  • Process outside counsel invoices for approval by the General Counsel or Assistant General Counsel.
  • Reconcile P-Card statements with receipts and maintain department files and board books.
  • Work with the Executive Assistant to optimize department efficiency and assume her duties in her absence, as needed.

Requirements

A Bachelor's Degree and five (5) years of equivalent experience are required. A Graduate degree is preferred. The ideal candidate will possess strong critical-thinking, outcome-driven, and professional skills, as well as proficiency with litigation technology databases, litigation management tools, and Microsoft Office applications.
