The Aerospace Structures section of the Structural Engineering Department at Southwest Research Institute focuses on the development and life management of military aircraft. This team provides turn-key research and development services, state-of-the-art structural analysis capability, and full-scale vehicle to small-scale component testing for all segments of the aerospace community.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist senior engineers in assembling research test rigs, operating tests, recording measurements, processing data, and coding test software.
  • Gain meaningful research experience in testing, electronics, and integration.
  • Apply acquired knowledge and skills from school in a practical situation.
  • Develop strong programming skills.
Daily and Monthly Tasks:
  • Perform hands-on work in a laboratory environment with electronics.
  • Utilize multiple programming languages to build software interfaces.
  • Support analysis and testing, participate in data acquisition, and interpret results to draw conclusions.
  • Perform computer-related tasks, including coding, creating diagrams, and reporting.
Requirements:
  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in aircraft, electronics, coding, and schematics.
  • Valid driver's license required.
