Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Cardiac Device Technician to join our team at Brigham and Women's Hospital. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing patients with cardiac implantable electrical devices (CIEDs) in an ambulatory setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and document remote pacemaker, ICD, and implantable loop recorder (ILR) transmissions and alerts.
  • Communicate findings requiring further attention with responsible MD or NP/PA.
  • Enroll, educate, schedule, and maintain patients in various remote monitoring systems (Carelink, Latitude, Merlin, Biotronik).
  • Assist with management and maintenance of the remote monitoring program.
  • Provide assistance in scheduling and other administrative duties related to the device center.
  • Interrogate, interpret, and program a wide range of cardiac devices with minimal provider supervision.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering in the biomedical field strongly preferred.
  • Successful completion of a full Cardiac Device Educational Program (i.e., PrepMD) or one year's experience in Electrophysiology is strongly preferred.
  • Current experience reviewing and managing remote device transmissions is strongly preferred.
  • Certification by IHBRE within two years of employment is strongly preferred and encouraged but not mandatory.
  • Current BLS certification required.
  • ACLS certification is required within the first year of employment.
