Summary:
Delivers urgent and emergent patient care under the supervision of a physician, physician's assistant, or registered nurse.

Responsibilities:
Conducts technical procedures as assigned, including establishing IV access, collecting specimens, providing wound care, and transporting patients.

May perform ECGs and monitor vital statistics/telemetry.

Assists medical professionals with examinations, minor surgical procedures, orthopedic treatments, and resuscitation efforts.

Reports any abnormal assessment findings or changes in physical, mental, and emotional conditions to the medical/nursing staff.

Facilitates patient flow and maintains cleanliness, organization, and stock of patient rooms.

Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work independently. Must thrive in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate actions.

Requirements:

Minimum Required Education:
High School Diploma or GED.

Required Licensure/Certification:
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider. Current State Licensure as an EMT-P.

Additional certifications and National Certification as defined by position level requirements.

Minimum Experience:
No prior experience required.

ADDITIONAL POSITION LEVEL CREDENTIAL INFORMATION:
PALS or PEPP certification is preferred. National certification is not mandatory.

BLS certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer must be obtained before the start date.

BLS or CPR certification must remain valid for at least sixty days post-hire.
