Position Overview

Key Responsibilities:

The Quality Control Inspector will conduct dimensional and visual assessments of incoming components, assemblies, and products to verify compliance with specifications before they are released for production and distribution. You will document and relay inspection findings to engineers and relevant stakeholders.

Core Duties:

  • Execute First Article inspections to validate tooling and new components.
  • Utilize optical comparators, vision systems, and standard metrology tools (calipers, height gauges, bore gauges, etc.) for open set-up inspections.
  • Perform visual and dimensional evaluations of incoming materials and assemblies according to established procedures or specifications, and make determinations based on the results.
  • Document inspection outcomes as necessary.
  • Ensure traceability of component materials concerning inspection status.
  • Handle materials in accordance with established protocols to prevent mix-ups, damage, or other negative impacts.
  • Record transactions and relocate materials to designated stock areas.
  • Generate Non-conformance reports for components that do not meet incoming specifications.
  • Communicate inspection results to engineers and other relevant personnel.
  • Verify the accuracy of assembly documentation and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Undertake additional projects or responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Proficient in operating standard metrology tools (calipers, height gauges, micrometers, bore gauges, dial indicators, surface plates, etc.) for open set-up inspections.
  • Ability to interpret mechanical drawings and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Familiarity with SAP or other ERP systems for performing lot transactions is advantageous.
  • Competence in Microsoft Office applications.

Educational Background:

  • High school diploma required; an Associate's Degree in Engineering is preferred.
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Understanding of SAP or similar ERP systems is beneficial; training will be provided if necessary.

Work Environment:

  • Must be capable of lifting a minimum of 25 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Strong organizational abilities.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

Base Salary Range Region 1: $51,000 - $69,000
Base Salary Range Region 2: $43,400 - $58,700
