Overview

As a Senior Systems Analyst specializing in Robotic Algorithms and Control at Intuitive Surgical, you will be instrumental in the advancement of innovative solutions for minimally invasive surgical procedures.

Position Summary

Your role will encompass the design, development, and support of cutting-edge products within the daVinci Surgery line. You will focus on the creation of tele-robotic motion control algorithms, robotic manipulator control, and safety protocols essential for sophisticated surgical robots and instruments.

This position requires collaboration across multiple engineering disciplines to effectively integrate subsystems and address complex challenges in system integration and motion control.

Your expertise will be vital in delivering high-quality, dependable products that align with customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage in the design of new surgical platforms and instruments through comprehensive control system analysis.
  • Develop and implement motion control algorithms.
  • Utilize control theory in the context of mechatronic and tele-robotic systems.
  • Conduct safety analyses of electro-mechanical devices to assess clinical risks.
  • Create safety monitoring algorithms grounded in established physical principles.
  • Document and pursue opportunities for intellectual property development.
  • Effectively communicate system performance metrics to stakeholders.
  • Provide ongoing support for system performance throughout the design and manufacturing phases.

Qualifications and Skills:

A Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 2 years of experience in controlling mechatronic systems, or a PhD in the same field.

Strong theoretical and practical understanding of servo control systems.

Proficiency in embedded C programming and integration methodologies.

Exceptional engineering intuition related to mechatronic systems.

Outstanding communication skills and the ability to thrive in a dynamic team environment.

A commitment to product quality and a mindset geared towards continuous improvement.
