Job Summary:

APS is seeking a highly skilled Software Asset Management Specialist to oversee the administration, negotiation, and management of software acquisitions, compliance, and license renewals. The ideal candidate will have expertise in ensuring that IT assets are optimized, compliant, and aligned with organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the negotiation and administration of software purchases, ensuring compliance with licensing agreements and managing renewals effectively.
  • Oversee the budgeting and forecasting for IT software and assets, ensuring financial efficiency and alignment with organizational needs.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of enterprise-wide IT purchasing standards and asset management procedures, driving consistency and efficiency across the organization.
  • Manage entitlement records, license agreements, and maintenance contracts, ensuring that all IT assets are accurately tracked and maintained.

Ideal Candidate Qualifications:

  • Expert Negotiator: Strong experience in negotiating software acquisitions and managing licensing agreements to ensure compliance and cost-effectiveness.
  • Financial Acumen: Proven ability to manage budgets and forecast IT asset expenditures, with a focus on optimizing resources.
  • Process Improvement: Experience in developing and implementing IT purchasing standards and asset management procedures across an enterprise.
  • Detail-Oriented: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage complex entitlement records and ensure accurate documentation.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field.
  • Two (2) years' of prior relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and directly related experience.

Preferred Special Skills, Knowledge or Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with ServiceNow Software Asset Management.
  • Software Asset Manager Certification.
  • Knowledge of technology asset life cycle management processes and supporting tools and services.
  • Understanding of IT business continuity, cybersecurity, integrated risk management, and optimization methodologies as they apply to technology contracts.
  • Excellent presentation, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Financial and Budget Acumen.
  • Demonstrated contract negotiation skills.

Major Accountabilities:

  • Directly contributes to the establishment and implementation of hardware and software acquisition, protection, maintenance, and retention policies, standards, and procedures aligned with IT standards and strategy.
  • Investigates hardware and software products of a complex nature; evaluates and recommends products based on available metrics, intended usage, and financial impact.
  • Coordinates with the procurement function and project teams to select, negotiate, and track software & hardware maintenance investments.
  • Gathers complex data on, and provides analysis of, activities that have an impact on the value, cost, and risk of technology assets.
  • Ensures accurate and timely reporting, and that data completeness and quality issues are quickly identified and escalated to the responsible data or process owners.
  • Identifies and reports on compliance to IT Asset Management policies, recommends, and tracks remedial action.
  • Analyzes new technology investments & advises on contract structure, content, and financial modeling.

FlexRole:

This position is not required to be performed at a specific APS facility as long as adequate technology and a solid ergonomic setup are present. Pending agreement with leadership, employees hired into this role will be able to choose where they prefer to perform their work, but the ultimate decision is the company's. Employees will have two options to choose from:

  • APS office-based: The employee prefers to work most of the time from an APS facility.
  • Home-based: The employee prefers to work most of the time from his/her home.
