Job Summary

The University of Pennsylvania's Abramson Cancer Center seeks a full-time Personnel Coordinator to support the Abramson Cancer Center Human Resources Manager and the Abramson Cancer Center by providing routine and a variation of Human Resource duties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide timely and accurate data entry in the role of the HR Analyst using the University of Pennsylvania's HR database program in the management and creation of all new hires, job board postings, and any driven employee changes into the University's HR employee database system, Workday.
  • Support and manage new hire onboarding processes for (including foreign nationals) and obtain and store required information, including but not limited to nursing licenses, internship documentation, all outside vendor contractor billing agreements submitting them for processing.
  • Work with contract vendor representatives to ensure good practices.
  • Manage confidential employee files and supporting documentation to ensure accurate and complete employee records, dispose of old records properly and be prepared to update employee's personal information in Workday if and when required to.
  • Support the Human Resource Manager by preparing and compiling monthly reports and documents (e.g., new hire/terminations reports) as needed, running and preparing other HR reports as needed.
  • Draft HR announcements; may be asked to assist with performance management procedures and/or terminations.
Requirements
  • High School Grad/GE Degree, and 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • A bachelor's degree in HR (or a related field) and 1 year of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Human Resources practices, employment regulations and employee relations preferred.
  • A demonstrated awareness of cultural competence.
  • Exposure to payroll practices.
  • Experience with Workday HR System a plus.
