Job Summary:

A Laboratory Assistant II is responsible for processing clinical specimens for diagnostic laboratory testing and maintaining associated records.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Processes patient samples according to established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Safely operates the pneumatic tube system and adheres to Infection Control policies.
  • Maintains accurate log records and ensures timely specimen distribution.
  • Maintains a safe and orderly work area, demonstrates safe work practices, and responds professionally to phone calls.
  • Understands collection requirements for special or referral testing and prepares specimens accordingly.
Requirements:
  • The American Society for Clinical Pathology certification is preferred.
  • An H.S. Diploma/GED (Required) and prior experience in hospital laboratory receiving areas and with Laboratory Information Systems are essential.
Compensation and Benefits:

With a salary range of $43,000 - $55,000 per year, we offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits program, including prepaid tuition assistance.
