Principal Software Engineering Manager

Microsoft is seeking a highly skilled Principal Software Engineering Manager to lead the engineering team in delivering Windows OS features on time with high quality. As a key member of the Windows team, you will be responsible for managing, mentoring, and growing the careers of your team, collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams, and designing, architecting, building, and managing features for highly scalable services and responsive user interface.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead the engineering team in navigating complex engineering systems to ship Windows OS features on time with high quality.
- Manage, mentor, and grow the careers of your team.
- Collaborate effectively and communicate clearly with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and other engineers, to build exceptional consumer-grade experiences.
- Design, architect, build, and manage features for highly scalable services and responsive user interface.
- Review and provide guidance to ongoing design, architecture, standards, and methods for OS components, operating services, and systems; assess design and code changes to drive improvements.
- Analyze data from hundreds of millions of devices to measure the impact of the changes and recommend opportunities for improvement.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline, and 6+ years software design and development experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
- 2+ years of working experience with C/C++.
- 2+ years of experiences shipping features on Windows.
- 2+ years of team leadership or people management experience.
- 5+ years of C++ design/architecture skills with expertise in Windows Shell/UX development.
- Experience with cross-group design and coordination.
- 10+ years software engineering experience delivering world-class system software.
