Position Overview: The Respiratory Therapist is responsible for the timely and professional setup of sophisticated medical equipment, including ventilators, monitors, and CPAP devices. This role involves providing technical support and ensuring the effective operation of various oxygen delivery systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive patient education tailored to individual needs and organizational policies, often in the patient's residence.
  • Conduct thorough and professional patient assessments in line with established protocols.
  • Stay updated on current respiratory homecare practices and relevant therapy concepts.
  • Adhere to safety regulations and policies, including OSHA standards and proper use of Personal Protective Equipment.
  • Uphold a professional image through personal appearance and the quality of patient care.
  • Assist in the collection of prescriptions as required.
  • Maintain organized and accurate patient records in compliance with accreditation standards.
  • Be available for on-call duties during evenings and weekends as necessary, with frequency determined by center size and staffing.
  • Experience Levels:
  • Level 1: Basic familiarity with home health care equipment and services.
  • Level 2: At least two years of experience in home health care.
  • Level 3: A minimum of three years of experience in home health care, with potential involvement in training other specialists.
  • Exhibit strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with healthcare professionals and patients.
  • Possess computer proficiency.
  • Complete all necessary training and education to achieve required certifications and licenses.
  • Be a licensed clinician authorized to provide all patient care services as permitted by state law.
  • Maintain current certification or licensure as mandated by state or national boards.
  • Subject to state regulations, other healthcare professionals may also qualify for this position.
  • Be capable of lifting and moving weights up to 25 pounds frequently and occasionally over 50 pounds.
