Job Overview

Position: Automated Optical Inspection Technician

Shift: 1st Shift - Monday to Friday

Background Check and Drug Screening Required

POSITION OBJECTIVE: To verify that in-process or final products adhere to specified standards prior to further processing or dispatch to clients.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct precise automated optical inspection of assemblies during production, including both start-up and shutdown procedures.
  • Perform non-routine equipment maintenance and scheduled preventative upkeep on a weekly/monthly basis.
  • Comprehend all production processes relevant to inspection; apply industry standards and sound judgment to assess acceptable quality levels. Interpret documentation related to production phases, including customer-supplied blueprints and parts lists.
  • Act as an authorized representative to halt production upon identifying nonconformities and promptly report any significant errors or discrepancies to the Group Leader for immediate corrective measures.
  • Document all daily AOI operational data, maintaining accurate and detailed records.
  • Ensure rejected items are kept separate from accepted products.
  • Adhere to the Quality Management System and comply with all regulatory and statutory requirements as mandated by clients.
  • Take initiative for ongoing on-the-job training by actively engaging in training sessions provided by designated company personnel or external services.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with visual inspections as necessary.
  • Engage in quality improvement initiatives and support the Quality Policy through responsible actions.
  • Contribute to a safe working environment by following safety protocols, reporting safety issues, and participating in scheduled breaks.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident.
  • Education: High school diploma or GED preferred, or relevant work experience.
  • Experience: Basic math and data entry skills are essential. Familiarity with electronic assembly and inspection experience is advantageous.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to perform tasks requiring high manual dexterity and repetition while seated or standing for extended periods. Must be able to lift, push, and pull weights between 10 to 25 pounds. Good eyesight is necessary, including the ability to adjust focus and distinguish colors.
  • Mental Requirements: Proficient in reading documents such as blueprints, bills of materials, workmanship standards, and equipment procedures. Capable of problem-solving, maintaining confidentiality, and possessing basic math skills, along with effective verbal and written communication.
  • Equipment Utilized: Hand tools, calipers, microscopes, ring lights, meters, copiers, and computers.

SPECIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Flexibility to work in various departments and additional hours, including weekends, as needed.
