This is a 40 hour per week position with an estimated salary of $44,744 - $67,127 annually. Job Description

The Registered Nurse Educator in Medical Oncology will guide and support caregivers in their professional development while providing clinical expertise in patient education. Key responsibilities include:

  • Assessing learning needs, coordinating education plans, and serving as a resource for healthcare professionals.
  • Promoting best practices in patient care while cultivating a team-oriented environment.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

Providing Clinical Expertise

You will provide clinical expertise relating to assigned area for patients, families, and various healthcare professionals. This includes utilizing the nursing process for each patient through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, as well as coordinating a multi-disciplinary approach to patient care with other members of the care team.

Individual and Group Education

You will provide individual and group education to patients and families, including accurate assessments of a patient's physical and emotional status, identifying learning needs, and any unique special requirements needed to facilitate a positive learning environment.

Resource Person

You will act as a resource person to healthcare professionals in the hospital, home care, and community regarding specialty area. Consult with physicians regarding patient treatment and educational plans, developing communication tools to support effective education and disease management.

Requirements

To perform this job successfully, an individual must meet the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required.
  • Current/valid Registered Nurse license from the state licensing board required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Three (3) years relevant nursing experience and two years required.

Preferred qualifications include Advanced Care Life Support (ACLS) certification and previous formal education activities.
