We are seeking an Enteral Coordinator to collaborate with our healthcare professionals. In this role, you will assist patients requiring enteral and parenteral nutrition by ensuring timely and accurate coordination of supplies and formulas. Building and maintaining positive relationships with nutrition staff is essential to optimize the nutrition program's effectiveness.


Job Type: Full-time, hybrid

Pay Range: $20.07-$25.09, based on experience

Position Responsibilities:
  1. Handle incoming calls from referral sources to initiate or terminate enteral services.
  2. Respond to inquiries from patients, caregivers, and healthcare providers regarding enteral supply requirements.
  3. Collaborate with clinical liaisons and discharge planners to coordinate care for prospective enteral patients.
  4. Verify insurance and benefit eligibility for all new referrals.
  5. Conduct monthly coverage verification for long-term Medicaid patients.
  6. Prepare and review Cost Disclosure/Advance Beneficiary Notices for Medicare patients and track signed documents.
  7. Generate and review benefit letters to inform patients of their financial responsibilities.
  8. Coordinate the scheduling and delivery of supplies.
  9. Monitor enteral nutrition monthly, addressing any issues or non-compliance with the appropriate staff.
  10. Regularly review supply inventory and provide patients with necessary supplies based on established guidelines.
  11. Communicate with staff regarding feeding pump requirements or issues.
  12. Ensure accurate tracking of nutrition therapy equipment and schedule annual maintenance for enteral pumps as required.
  13. Contact patients upon therapy completion to arrange for equipment pickup.
  14. Maintain current enteral orders, track expiration dates, and liaise with physicians for new or updated orders as necessary.
  15. Adhere to legal and ethical guidelines to protect patient confidentiality.

Required Skills:
  1. High school diploma or GED
  2. Experience in home infusion or home health
  3. Customer service expertise
  4. Insurance verification and reimbursement knowledge
  5. Ability to organize information and communicate effectively with patients and colleagues
  6. Strong oral and written communication skills
  7. Flexibility and effectiveness in a multidisciplinary team environment
  8. Familiarity with basic medical terminology
  9. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  10. Experience in enteral nutrition
  11. Experience in product ordering and delivery coordination
  12. Knowledge of medical records and reimbursement processes for enteral therapies
