Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Logistics Coordinator II to join our team at Pelican Staffing. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for delivering and setting up inventory at customer-designated sites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure the accuracy of shipments to customers
  • Assist with VMI customer space/placement and set up the appropriate area to receive shipments of material
  • Follow customer orders from pick-up at our warehouse/DC to delivery and set up at customer sites
  • Take customer spot buy orders when needed and relay the information to the Inside Sales or AR team
  • Recommend changes to customer inventory levels based on usage
  • Ensure bar code labels are up to date and legible for scanners to read or print out the appropriate bar code labels as needed
  • Scan barcodes at customer sites to generate customer orders
  • Maintain awareness of min/max, reorder point/quantity and report observations back to management
  • Assist with inventory (cycle) counts on consigned customer sites
  • Present information and respond to questions from clients, customers, and managers
  • Perform 5S at VMI and Vending Point of Use areas
  • Perform VMI functions at vending point of use areas: loading, receiving, and minor repairs or changes
Requirements
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant warehouse, inventory (cycle) counting, or delivery experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred (not required)
  • Relevant experience should include willingness to learn and work on assignments that are semi-routine in nature
  • Ability to understand and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
  • Demonstrated ability to get the job done correctly and in a timely manner
  • Possess a proactive and positive team approach to problem resolution
  • Ability to establish strong working relationships with customers, co-workers, and management
  • Ability to determine methods and procedures on new assignments
  • Knowledge of company products preferred
  • Ability to represent Vallen in a professional manner projecting a Winning Team approach to customer service
Work Environment & Physical Demands
  • May be required to wear various forms of protective equipment (shoes, gloves, protective eyewear, etc.)
  • Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand and may include little to no advanced notice
  • Sitting, standing, walking, squatting/kneeling, reaching, grasping, pushing/pulling, twisting/bending, lifting/carrying multiple times per shift, fingering, talking, hearing, and seeing
  • May be required to lift and carry up to 75 pounds; must have the ability to handle physical inventory that requires hand dexterity
  • May work in extreme hot or cold environments; various facilities may have dusty conditions
