Job Overview

The role of the Shipping and Receiving Clerk encompasses various responsibilities essential for efficient logistics operations. This position primarily involves:

  • Order Verification: Ensuring that shipments are accurately prepared by cross-referencing items and quantities against shipping documents.
  • Packaging and Labeling: Guaranteeing that all shipments are correctly packaged and labeled with the necessary shipping information before loading onto transport vehicles.
  • Inventory Management: Monitoring and managing inventory levels, providing updates, and compiling reports for management review.
  • Documentation: Maintaining accurate records of all shipping and receiving activities, including manifests and bills of lading.
  • Logistics Coordination: Organizing and facilitating the transfer of goods between various locations.
  • Quality Assurance: Verifying the accuracy of incoming and outgoing shipments to ensure compliance with company standards.

Qualifications
  • Experience in Navy military logistics is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with Navy shipping and receiving documentation is essential.
  • Effective communication skills to interact with personnel at all organizational levels.
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen and possess a valid driver's license.
