Overview and Key Responsibilities:

Saint Mary's University of Minnesota is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to contribute to the financial planning and budgeting processes at the Winona Campus. This position is vital for enhancing the university's financial strategy and operational efficiency. Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and sustaining the university's budget framework under the supervision of the Senior Director.
  • Generating monthly financial reports and in-depth analyses for departmental leaders.
  • Creating cost analysis and budget distribution models.
  • Executing financial modeling, forecasting, and comprehensive reporting.
  • Supporting insurance claims processing and personnel budget oversight.
  • And additional related tasks.

Essential Skills and Competencies:

  • Thorough knowledge of fund accounting and budgeting methodologies.
  • Exceptional financial modeling and analytical capabilities with a strong focus on precision.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Robust problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to articulate complex financial data in an understandable manner.
  • Experience with ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline.
  • Previous experience in financial analysis and budgeting is preferred.
