Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Planner to join our team at Winpak. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and scheduling maintenance activities to ensure optimal equipment performance and minimize downtime.

Key Responsibilities
  • Planning Duties: Review work orders for content and accuracy, assign work orders based on available resources, material, and planning backlog, assure work orders are approved before assignment, enter work orders into CMMS and follow up on closing work orders as required, review actual vs. plan on completed work orders and recommend appropriate changes to improve results, identify recurring maintenance problems, provide feedback and direction for maintaining equipment parts catalog, equipment history, storeroom min/max levels, researching and sourcing parts for planned work as needed, assist Project Engineer in maintaining technical library (blueprints, technical documents, service manuals etc.), work with Buyer and/or Storeroom Clerk to ensure parts are available for upcoming PM's and other planned maintenance work, develop the level and scope of planned repairs through downtime trends and failure analysis.
  • Scheduling Duties: Prepare weekly maintenance schedule and facilitate weekly scheduling meeting for review with Maintenance Department staff and leadership team, receive and process information on daily schedule and daily work summary reports, compile weekly compliance reports.
  • Other Duties: Assist in providing maintenance key performance indicators (KPIs) for department, maintain integrity of PM program, responsible for PM optimization by continuously evaluating current PM effectiveness vs downtime, establish and adjust PM frequencies as needed, level load PM's, conduct follow up audits on completed PM's for effectiveness, evaluate PM work order frequency and scope for effectiveness, be knowledgeable of condition based vs. time-based PM's and make recommendations, assist maintenance leadership team (MLT) in managing equipment /asset identification in Micromain, identify training opportunities for the maintenance staff as needed, manage predictive maintenance program, present information to MLT for repair/replace/refurbish decisions, understand budget requirements, run reports to track labor and materials, identify trends and report to management, maintain excellent communications with operations, attend safety meetings, other non-maintenance meetings, and training activities as required, work with storeroom clerk to properly kit parts for planned maintenance activity.
Requirements
  • Experience working with CMMS systems.
  • Ability to read machine prints and assembly drawings.
  • Use of critical metrics for decision making and corrective action.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to conduct effective meetings.
  • Capacity to solve problems through creative, innovative solutions and challenge traditional methods of accomplishing tasks.
  • Ability to acquire and maintain knowledge of maintenance practices.
  • Self-motivated and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Must be trained in and follow company policies on GMP, sanitation, pre-requisite programs, chemical control and food safety plans and policies.
  • Must be competent to carry out food packaging safety and quality responsibilities.
  • Train and support other maintenance team members.
  • Perform other maintenance duties as directed in a safe, efficient manner, consistent with company policies and procedures.
Experience and Education

Five or more years of industrial experience in a manufacturing environment and 3 years working in maintenance. High School Diploma (or equivalent) Associate's degree preferred.
