Job Summary

This role is responsible for assisting the Supervisor Planner in developing a reliability-based maintenance strategy, focusing on preventive and predictive maintenance. The successful candidate will work closely with the Supervisor Maintenance Planner to build a reliable maintenance team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain equipment records in SAP and plan and schedule corrective work to maximize crew utilization and effectiveness.
  • Coordinate outside service requests, establish purchase orders, and ensure their closure, while partnering with leadership to manage expenses within budget requirements.
  • Use computers and associated software programs to plan maintenance activities, develop training documents, and create process flow charts.
  • Track metrics, performance, and efficiency of work scheduled using spreadsheets and graphs, as well as document in report format, PowerPoint slides, and on bulletin boards.
  • Read and comprehend technical manuals, service manuals, diagrams, blueprints, and schematics.
  • At the direction of the supervisor, work with other plants to ensure predictive and preventative plans are uniform on like equipment.
  • Coordinate predictive and preventive maintenance for an area of production equipment and schedule require corrective actions.
  • Ensure production areas are maintained to current GMP standards.
  • Understand operations, procedures, inventory parts, LOTO, improvements, breakdown analysis, PM's, 5S, etc. within the production area.
  • Maintain equipment repair records in compliance with company policy.
  • Assist and coordinate maintenance personnel who maintain and repair electrical, plumbing, ventilation, and other building systems.
  • Respond to calls from production immediately and assign work tickets to appropriate personnel to handle the call.
  • Responsible for evaluating problematic systems, equipment, and facilities and make recommendations for installation or repair service.
  • Support the scheduling of maintenance personnel to ensure no gap in facility coverage.
  • Support the training of maintenance personnel as requested.
  • This role has the responsibility to understand and implement appropriate safety procedures, achieved through education, training, use of protective equipment (as applicable), and by following safety policies, regulations, standards, and laws.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • 3-5 years of experience in a related field is preferred.
  • Ability to build and use a maintenance library for repairs.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical/engineering documents, drawings, schematics.
  • Hands-on maintenance experience is required.
  • Ability to write detailed repair reports and good verbal communication.
  • Result-driven, problem-solving mind-set with basic experience of continuous improvement.
  • Ability to manage multiple conflicting demands and to prioritize accordingly.
  • Project management skills is preferred.
  • Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • SAP experience is preferred.
  • Excellent proficiency in all Microsoft Office Suite Products.
Preferred Education
  • BA/BS or equivalent is preferred.
  • In Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred or equivalent knowledge and skills acquired through on-the-job training or experience.
Work Environment

Work can be performed within a manufacturing plant environment with noise, extreme temperatures, and significant movement of powered equipment, people, and conveyor (may depend on the role). Work conditions are typical of a food manufacturing facility. This role does not require any domestic travel. Must be willing to work a changing shift schedule and on a rotating weekend on-call list. Off-shift, weekend, and holiday work may be required. Position may require the physical agility of lifting up to 50 pounds. Position may require frequent and/or infrequent bending, squatting, pushing, pulling, stretching/reaching, use of hands or fingers, talk, hear, feel objects, tools, controls, and standing/walking on concrete flooring. Position may require the physical ability to stand/walk for greater than 4 hours.
