What You'll Be Doing

Determine the extent to which patients' insurance covers their treatments, reviewing appropriateness of CPT-4/ICD-10 coding and ensuring compliance with Federal and State regulations and company policies.

May assist in identifying fraudulent non-plan billing practices and assist the legal department with litigation preparation.


The successful candidate will be able to:

  • Abstract clinical information from medical records charts and documents
  • Assign appropriate ICD-10 and/or CPT-4 codes to patient records according to documentation
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned
  • Serve as a resource to employees and respond to employee questions related to coding/billing
  • Meet regularly with Director Physician Billing to identify trends and work with physician and staff to reduce Denials
  • Develop and update training related to coding/billing
  • Plan and schedule special projects as requested by Management


What We're Looking For

High School/Associates Degree

CPC – A/AAPC Certified Professional Coder (CPC)

Personal computer skills including Microsoft Office

Working knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS

Strong analytical and oral/written communication skills

Ability to work well with others

Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills

Ability to maintain independence and objectivity

Must be able to organize, prioritize, and complete tasks within established time constraints

Must have good planning and organizational skills
