Pilgrim's is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Production Operator - Feed Mill Specialist to join our team at our Arcadia, WI location. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe operation of our feed mill, including housekeeping and manufacturing feed according to established procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Perform housekeeping duties throughout the feed mill, maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
- Pellets all finished feed rotations for the complex, utilizing feed mill control systems to select the correct feed and bin.
- Mixes all finished feed rations for the complex, utilizing control systems to auto-batch and auto-route individual runs of feed according to proper sequencing and/or flushing.
- Grinds all corn for the finished feed rations, utilizing feed mill control systems to auto-grind and auto-route the grinding system.
- Follows and assists with determining feed production schedules, ensuring timely and efficient production.
- Maintains automated short-mix machine and ingredients associated with it, ensuring accurate and precise mixing.
- Cleans Pellet Mill Particle Separators (Pollution Control Device) as needed, ensuring compliance with FDA and divisional guidelines.
- Maintains all records accurately and neatly, in accordance with FDA and divisional guidelines.
- Operates and maintains equipment in a safe manner, keeping the area and buildings neat, clean, and orderly according to housekeeping schedule for the Feed Mill.
- Dispatches and loads feed delivery trucks, filling in for the dispatch operator as needed.
- Assists with Harvest Processing of corn and grain, ensuring efficient and safe operation.
- High School Diploma or related experience and/or training preferred.
- 1-3 years related experience preferred.
- Basic math skills.
- Ability to read and write effectively.
- Some skill in computers.
- Some mechanical ability.
- Ability to lift 80-pound bags.
- Working ability to dispatch loads.
- Working ability to effectively communicate with associates, vendors, drivers, and growers.
- Working knowledge of inventory and record keeping.
- Working ability to climb high structures.
- Working knowledge of ingredient and feed quality.
- Ability to wear a full-face respirator as needed.
The Production Operator - Feed Mill Specialist will work in a fast-paced production environment, with frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and vibration. The employee will also work near wet, humid conditions, and extreme heat.
