Pharmacy Technician I

At Prisma Health, we're committed to providing exceptional patient care and transforming healthcare in our communities. As a Pharmacy Technician I, you'll play a vital role in our pharmacy team, working under the direction of a pharmacist to perform various tasks.
About the Role- Perform pharmacy-related functions, including filling provider orders, medication kits/trays, automated dispensing cabinets, and floor stock requisitions.
- Accurately complete cart fills and code tray refills, handle controlled substances, and operate cash registers for accurate payments.
- Demonstrate proficiency with work-related computer and automation skills, problem-solving for automated dispensing cabinets, inventory management technology, label printers, unit dose packing machines, IV room automation, and other pharmacy-specific technologies.
- Deliver medications to the appropriate patient care area or department, adhering to established schedules and workflows.
- Remove and evaluate medications remaining in delivery, return bins, and medication refrigerators.
- Routinely check expiration dates, regulatory documentation, temperature monitoring documentation, inventory levels, floor stock inspections, and equipment cleaning/preventative maintenance.
- High School diploma or equivalent; OR post-high school degree.
- No experience required.
- Registered with SC Board of Pharmacy.
- Pharmacy Tech Certification required within 18 months of hire date.
This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive. The work environment is fast-paced, with urgent and stressful conditions. You'll need excellent interpersonal skills, problem-solving abilities, and knowledge of medical and pharmacy terminology.
