Electrical Engineering Associate

Thornton Tomasetti is seeking an Electrical Engineering Associate to join our team. As an Electrical Engineering Associate, you will be responsible for managing projects independently and supporting senior engineers in the MEP practice on projects as needed.

Responsibilities
  • Manage projects independently and support senior engineers in the MEP practice on projects as needed.
  • Support business development activities such as conferences and business development events.
  • Work directly with a wide variety of clients, including attorneys, property owners, contractors, and insurance professionals, on a wide range of investigations which may involve:
    • Field Investigations
    • Electrical Recertifications in Florida
    • Property Assessment and Analysis
    • Extent and Scope of Damage
    • Cause of Damage
    • National Electric Code and various Building Code Analysis
    • Construction Defects
    • Professional Standard of Care
  • May be called to serve as an expert witness in various scenarios, including depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and trials.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering is required.
  • 8+ years of experience in the MEP design field.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) License in at least one jurisdiction and the ability to obtain licensure in others.
  • Ability to write reports that clearly express engineering opinions and conclusions and support these conclusions/opinions with facts and sound engineering principles.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other disciplines, meet deadlines and travel to work sites.
  • Ability and willingness to travel for short durations for certain assignments.
