Job Summary

Universal Engineering Sciences is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our Building Inspection Department. As an Electrical Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and compliance of electrical installations and systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough inspections at various project milestones to verify adherence to design specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Verify electrical installations comply with design plans, codes, and safety standards.
  • Document and report inspection findings, highlighting any discrepancies or issues.
  • Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and other stakeholders to address and resolve identified issues.
  • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to project teams regarding electrical systems and inspections.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of inspection protocols and procedures.
Requirements
  • Valid Florida Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to pass a background check screening in accordance with Florida's Jessica Lunsford Act.
  • Ability to read and write, and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Knowledge of written communication formats and composition, including grammar and vocabulary.
  • Ability to present to one or more people, including customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to speak effectively with colleagues, supervisors, and customers/clients.
  • Computer skills sufficient to operate a laptop and cell phone, including sending and receiving emails, prepare and present PowerPoint Presentations, and learn Deltek Vision, SAP Concur, and CRM software.
  • Mathematical skills sufficient to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw or create, and interpret, bar graphs.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Previous experience in the A/E/C industry.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Understands milestone inspections.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong documentation and reporting abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in relevant software and tools.
