Job Title: AI Software Architect

We are seeking a highly skilled AI Software Architect to join our team at Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (APL). As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and developing cutting-edge AI systems for high-end sensors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop AI systems that integrate with high-end sensors to enhance their understanding of the world.
  • Collaborate with a team of engineers and scientists to plan and design robust systems for real-world AI applications.
  • Ensure the security and integrity of AI systems, including the implementation of security protocols and measures.
  • Lead sub-teams to support system development, design, and goals.
  • Coding skills in C++, CMake, build servers, and Linux are required.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in systems programming (C++, C#, Java, etc.).
  • Strong information technology skills, including familiarity with system deployment and Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment technologies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Demonstrated success leading in a team environment.
  • Ability to obtain a Top Secret security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Masters degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience working with systems programming languages.
  • 3+ years of experience architecting systems.
  • Experience with data science and machine learning programming.
  • Ability to work with government customers and hold an active Top Secret security clearance.

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. The pay range for this position is $90,000 - $220,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
