Recreation Therapist

Job Summary:
Tenet Massachusetts is seeking a Recreation Therapist to join our team. As a Recreation Therapist, you will be responsible for evaluating, planning, and implementing Therapeutic Recreation programs to increase, maintain, or restore functions, maximize or prevent disability, and assist patients in reaching their maximum performance levels in the areas of leisure education, adaptive recreation, and recreational activities.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate patients' individual needs and abilities to develop goal-oriented treatment plans.
- Work within an interdisciplinary team to complete recreational therapy plans of care, evaluating patients' pre-morbid leisure lifestyles and providing goals and objectives directed at a therapeutically designed recreation/leisure-oriented treatment.
- Develop and implement diversionary activity programs as needed.
- Support efforts for patients' social integration during rehabilitation stays.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Recreation Therapy, Therapeutic Recreation, Recreation Administration, or an equivalent program.
- Preferred: 1 year Recreation Therapist experience.
- Certification-eligible by the Consortium for Therapeutic Recreation/Activity Certification (CTRS) or National Council of Therapeutic Recreation Certification (NCTRC) or hold a Master's Degree in a related field.
