Mental Health Therapist

Tenet Massachusetts is seeking a highly skilled Mental Health Therapist to join our team at Leonard Morse Hospital in Natick, Massachusetts.
Job SummaryAs a Mental Health Therapist, you will be responsible for providing psychiatric care to adult, adolescent, and child patients. You will work under the supervision of the Charge Nurse to plan and implement milieu treatment, considering patient needs and therapeutic goals. Your primary focus will be on ensuring the quality and safe delivery of care to patients of all ages.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with the nurse therapist to determine a milieu treatment approach and function as an active member of the multidisciplinary team.
- Administer initial psychological assessments and provide consistent individual counseling focused on treatment goals during hospitalization.
- Participate in milieu therapy for patients on an individual or group basis, leading or assisting in milieu groups, and incorporating knowledge of each patient's condition and application of various therapeutic techniques.
- Collaborate with other unit staff in assessing and evaluating patient's mental status, initiating and maintaining a therapeutic relationship with patients, and sharing information and participating in the formulation of treatment plans.
- Coordinate and implement various aspects of the milieu environment to provide a therapeutic experience for patients, and work with other unit personnel with crisis intervention techniques.
- Provide supportive care to patients, including participating in conversation, recreational activities, and basic living activities, and set limits, confront counterproductive activities and behavior, and reassure and orient patients.
- Record all appropriate information on patient charts, prepare regular reports describing each patient's mental status and functioning, and report and document overt, covert, verbal, and non-verbal communications by patients.
- Provide support and education to family members and significant others regarding the patient's status, and work with representatives of outside agencies in obtaining or disseminating information on individual patients.
- Bachelor's Degree in psychology or a related field preferred.
- Bilingual preferred (Spanish/English).
- BLS required.
