Role Summary:

This role will be integral to the Fulbright Program Management team. The Fulbright Program, established in 1946, is the premier international academic exchange initiative sponsored by the U.S. Government, aimed at enhancing mutual understanding and fostering friendly relations between the United States and other nations. In collaboration with over 160 countries, Fulbright provides transformative academic and cultural exchange opportunities.

The Regional Program Coordinator will support the management of Fulbright Student and Scholar Programs, ensuring the successful execution of program deliverables for designated countries within the East Asia and Pacific region. This position will involve close collaboration with U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA), Fulbright Commissions, U.S. Embassies, and internal teams to facilitate programmatic success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with counterparts at the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, Fulbright Commissions, and Foreign Posts for assigned countries, addressing inquiries and correspondence.
  • Provide essential information to internal IIE units and external regional Fulbright partners to align with country and programmatic priorities.
  • Oversee grant funding, including supplementary allocations and endowments, recommending financial distributions for assigned portfolios.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of grantees; analyze data and prepare reports for Program Directors and Regional Assistant Directors.
  • Evaluate applications and determine grantee eligibility; facilitate selection panels and the selection process.
  • Collect and assess documents from participants to ensure timely visa processing and onboarding.
  • Advise participants on program-related inquiries, offering emergency support and collaborating with hosts to resolve issues.

Qualifications and Experience:

Education: A Bachelor's degree is required, along with a minimum of two years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated experience in managing complex projects requiring strong organizational, time-management, and administrative skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interpret contracts and policy documents and produce detailed reports.
  • Ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders, demonstrating cultural sensitivity and discretion in handling confidential matters.
  • Adaptability to evolving organizational needs and a dynamic work environment, with the capability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the East Asia and Pacific region.
  • Familiarity with higher education systems in the U.S. and internationally.

Compensation and Benefits:

The salary range for this position is $55,043 - $70,386, determined by various factors including relevant experience and skills.
